Fishing isn’t just a part of my life, but in fact, it is my life. Simply put, I am a fishermen.  Actually, I have been a fishermen since I was a three year old boy catching fish off the dock at our Northern Minnesota cabin.  It was like something took a hold of me the first time my bobber disappeared below the water and that sunfish tugged on the line.  I had to have more and more.  It was so rewarding, yet challenging, to lure the fish into biting off the end of the dock.  Like many young kids, I learned to fish from my Dad who guided me each step of the way.   We soon left the dock for deeper waters and discovered that fishing is as much about feel as it is technique.  Most of all, fishing was always fun, exciting and a great way to spend time with my family and friends.

As an adult, I completed my degree in education and teaching.  I found enjoyment and satisfaction in teaching others.  All the while I never lost my passion for fishing.  In fact, my fishing actually increased and I found myself out on rivers, ice, lakes and even the ocean.   I often found myself teaching others little tips about fishing and really enjoyed the excitement it brought to others.  Then, it dawned on me that I could develop a company that uses my teaching background and my love for fishing to help others.  To actually take an educational approach when introducing new people to fishing so that they can learn the skills required to enjoy fishing.  At that moment, Catching Adventures was born!

Since opening Catching Adventures in 2016, I have developed the company around three main principals; Introduction, Education and Enjoyment.  I have developed an entire program for summer and winter fishing as well as spring trout fishing.  I thoroughly enjoy teaching people to fish, and I hope to spread the joy of fishing around the Duluth Area!
